Our Ohana

O.K. Farms was founded In 2002 with a mission to perpetuate sustainable agriculture in Hawai'i. Ed Olson and Troy Keolanui partnered to execute their vision of a diverse tropical fruit farm that was a part of their community for generations to come. Fast Forward almost twenty years later, and O.K. Farms is one of the largest tropical fruit producers in the U.S. and is an incremental stakeholder for food independence in the State of Hawai'i.

Located on the rolling hills of Pu'ueo Mauka, and home to the Wailuku river that curves around the edges of the land, O.K Farms is truly a magical place. The farm ohana has taken initiative to be caretakers of the land and have made many efforts to use sustainable practices, improve soil health, and manage invasive species along the river. With over 1000 acres that make up the land that is managed by O.K. Farms and sister companies Hamakua Macadamia Nut Company and Ka'u Coffee Mill, many unique crops are brought to market.

O.K. Farms grows a variety of tropicals such as, Lychee, Longan, Rambutan, Citrus, Macadamia Nuts, Coffee, Chocolate, Heart of Palm, Cinnamon, Cloves, Nutmeg, Radishes and many more to name! Along with O.K. Farms day to day produce sales, they also created a CSA (Farm Box) program for residents in their town which helps other farmers on island, as well as feeds families healthy, fresh food.

Complete with scenic overlooks and walking paths, O.K. Farms welcomes visitors for farm tours and foodie experiences. O.K. Farms also invites all schools on the island to bring their students to experience a real operating farm and hopefully inspire the next generation of farmers. The farm also includes a world-class soccer field, some of Hilo’s most majestic scenic spots, such as Rainbow Falls, and views of Mauna Kea, the world’s tallest mountain.
